  1. What will be the dynamics of the contest?

The first 40 photos of each category will be part of the contest in each category, which will take place entirely on the @maratonmalaga Instagram account.

If we receive more than 10 photos, there will be a first phase of eliminations. We will create random one-on-one elimination rounds in stories where the followers of @maratonmalaga will choose which photo advances to the next round. Once the eliminations are concluded, we will reach the final with a maximum of 10 photographs.

  1. When will the voting take place?

During the month of May. Stay tuned to Instagram @maratonmalaga.

  1. How is the winner chosen in each category?

Through a popular vote on Instagram. There will be a maximum of 10 photographs in the final of each category, which will be the winners of the previous eliminations. Each photo will be assigned a number. Users will vote for the best photo of each category on the @maratonmalaga Instagram account. Only one vote per user will be counted.

  1. How are the votes counted in the final of each category?

Through a web application, we export all the comments from the post to a Word document. Once we have them all, we filter them by number. Example: We filter by the number “2” and that gives us the result that the number “2” appears 500 times. Once this first filter is done, we manually check the 500 times the number “2” has been mentioned and discard “invalid votes”. What would be “invalid votes”? We explain below:

  • Repeated votes (one vote per user).
  • The times that number appears unintentionally. Example:

@pepito222: I vote for number 3 because it’s the best of the 42K.

In this example, the number “2” appears four times, but it’s not that “@pepito222” wants to vote for the number “2”, but that his own username contains the number “2” three times and he also wrote “42K”. So, following this example, the four times the number “2” appears in this case would be “invalid votes”. As well as the vote for number “4”.

The real vote, the one that counts, is for number “3”.

The organization undertakes to announce the winner, but not the total votes for each photograph. The organization may send the document with the total votes to those who request it.

  1. What is the prize?

The winners of each category will advance to a final where 10 photographs will compete.

The winner of the Photography Contest final will receive two bibs for the GENERALI Marathon Malaga 2024.

  1. Changes and Acceptance of Legal Bases

The organization reserves the right to modify or expand these Legal Bases, as long as it does not harm or diminish the rights of the Participants in the Contest. The mere fact of participating in the Contest implies that the Participant fully accepts the conditions of these Legal Bases.
