Official Pacers for the Marathon
This year’s Marathon will once again feature a full team of official pacers. These experienced runners maintain steady, consistent paces throughout the race to help participants reach their time goals. Whether you want to achieve a new personal best or simply run at an even pace, following a pacing balloon is one of the most effective ways to do it.
Available Pace Groups
The following pace groups will be available on race day:
- 3h00 — Approx. 4:15 min/km
- 3h15 — Approx. 4:37 min/km
- 3h30 — Approx. 4:58 min/km
- 3h45 — Approx. 5:19 min/km
- 4h00 — Approx. 5:41 min/km
- 4h15 — Approx. 6:02 min/km
- 4h30 — Approx. 6:23 min/km
Each group will be led by experienced pacers who will keep a stable and predictable pace throughout the entire course.
Why follow a pacer?
Running with a pacer helps you:
- Maintain a stable pace without constantly checking your watch
- Avoid going out too fast in the early kilometres
- Save energy by running within a group
- Increase your chances of finishing at your target time
If you are running the half marathon, note that equivalent finishing times would correspond to half the duration of each marathon pace group.
Which group should you choose?
Select the pacing balloon that best matches your training level and realistic goal. Whatever your choice, the pacing team will be ready to support you all along the route and help you enjoy an unforgettable race day experience.
