GENERALI MALAGA 2024 HALF MARATHON RULES AND REGULATIONS
ARTICLE 1. PRESENTATION
ATRES ADVERTISING, S.L.U., is organising the GENERALI Malaga Half Marathon, to be held on Sunday 15th December 2024, at 8.30 a.m., and in which all persons of legal age who wish to participate may do so without any distinction whatsoever.
ARTICLE 2. APPROVAL
The circuit will measure 21,095 metres and will be duly homologated. This event is run under the IAAF and RFEA Road Race Regulations, and is included in the AIMS calendar. The course will be marked and signposted every kilometre.
ARTICLE 3. ROUTE
Starting and finishing line at Paseo del Parque in front of Malaga Town Hall and a circuit published on the official Marathon website, www.generalimaratonmalaga.com.
ARTICLE 4. TIMETABLE
The start will be at 8.30 am and the maximum time to complete the race is 2 hours 45, so the finish line will be closed at 11.15 am, and will be located in Avenida Cánovas del Castillo.
The mandatory passing times, to complete the race, from the initial start shall be as follows:

ARTICLE 5. WHEELED MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT
The use of any device or wheeled device is not permitted during the race (including handbikes), except for the wheelchairs of disabled athletes in wheelchairs, approved by the Federation and officially admitted by the Organisation. The latter must compulsorily wear a helmet.
ARTICLE 6. REGISTRATION
6.1. REGISTRATION PERIOD:
From 11 December 2023, until Monday 9 December 2024, at 20:00 h, in its online mode, or until the 7,000 bibs available are used up.
If bibs are still available, a bib counter will be set up for this purpose during the runner’s fair.
6.2. PRICES AND REGISTRATION DEADLINES:

CONDITIONS
6.1.- In order to accredit the condition of disability, it will be necessary to attach a certificate of disability of more than 33% at the time of registration through the registration form itself.
Alternatively, a copy of the card certifying the degree of disability can be sent by email to the same address.
6.2.- The registration period will close at 8 p.m. on Monday 9 December 2024, unless the organisers deem it appropriate to extend this period.

6.4.- CONSIDERATIONS:
- Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies full acceptance of the Technical Regulations of the event, including the Declaration of Responsibility included in the same (Annex 1).
- Under no circumstances, once the registration has been formalised, may participation be transferred to another person for reasons of not being able to take part in the race or for any other reason.
- The registration limit for the Generali Malaga Half Marathon 2024 is 4,500 runners.
6.5.- CANCELLATION GUARANTEE.
Once the registration form has been filled in, the runner will access an option to contract the “refundable booking” service.

The cancellation guarantee can only be taken out during the registration process.
ARTICLE 7. CATEGORIES AND CLASSIFICATIONS
7.1. CATEGORIES
- Under 20: born in 2004 and 2005.
- Under 23: born in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
- Senior M / F: born in 1999 up to 35 years old.
- Master M35 / F35: 35 to 39 years old, completed.
- Master M 40 / F 40: From 40 to 44 years old.
- Master M 45 /F 45: from 45 to 49 years of age, completed
- Master M 50/ F 50: From 50 to 54 years old.
- Master M 55/ F55: from 55 to 59 years of age, completed.
- Master M 60/ F 60: From 60 to 64 years of age.
- Master M 65/ F65. From 65 to 69 years old.
- Master M 70/ F 70: Over 70 years of age, completed.
…. And to the last older athlete who completes the race according to the rules.
- Wheelchair Disabled (Mixed) M/ F*
- Disabled (Mixed) Physical/ Intellectual M/ F*

* All the ages indicated must be reached on the day of the test.

7.2. RANKINGS
The following classifications will be made:
- Absolute Male and Female General Classification.
ARTICLE 8. PRIZES
All participants in the race will receive a finisher’s medal once they have finished the race within the time limit.
The awards shall consist in all the cases and categories mentioned in article 7.2 of these regulations, in a trophy.
8.1. COMPLAINTS
All classifications are the sole and exclusive competence of the members of the RFEA Judges Committee.

The runners shall submit, in writing together with €100, to the Referee within 30 minutes of the publication of the rankings, who shall decide. In the event that the runner is in the right, the €100 will be refunded.
Corrections must be sent in writing, to the marathon’s e-mail address: info@generalimaratonmalaga.com, before the Wednesday following the race.
The Organisation will communicate any claims/corrections within a maximum period of 10 days, after which the classifications will be considered definitive. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until that time.
ARTICLE 9. BIB NUMBERS
The location of the Runner’s Fair will be announced soon through the Marathon’s official channels.
To collect their race bib, runners will have to present the receipt or copy of their registration and their ID card, passport or other official document proving their identity. No race bibs will be handed out on the day of the race.
The race bibs must be worn clearly visible on the front of the trunk throughout the race and may not be changed.
The race bibs have a disposable chip, so they cannot be bent or manipulated.
ARTICLE 10. DISQUALIFICATIONS
This shall be grounds for disqualification:
- Providing false information when registering (age, residence, etc.).
- Do not do the whole route.
- Do not pass through the passing controls located on the circuit.
- Not wearing the bib clearly visible on the chest, or altering or obscuring the advertising on the bib.
- Running with a bib and/or chip allocated to another runner.
- Failure to heed the instructions of the judges and/or organising staff.
- You have given your race bib to be photocopied and used by another runner in the marathon.
- Refusal to undergo doping control.
- Engaging in unsporting behaviour.
- Failure to meet the 2h45 pacing times for finish line pace.
ARTICLE 11.VICTUALLING
Refreshments will be given to runners along the route and in the post finish area, set up for this purpose.
There will be refreshment posts with water and isotonic drinks at kilometres 5, 10 and 15,
ARTICLE 12. MEDICAL CARE
The Generali Maratón de Málaga 2024 will have the necessary Medical Services to attend to the runner during the race. The Organisers recommend that all participants undergo a Medical Examination prior to the race, all participants accepting the risk derived from the sporting activity.
Likewise, the athlete declares that he/she is in optimum physical condition to carry out this test and does so at his/her own risk.
Any athlete with a health problem is obliged to notify the Organisation in writing beforehand, to mark his bib with a red cross and to state his name, address, telephone number and the health problem he suffers from. He/she will be obliged (for his/her safety) to notify in writing (indicating his/her bib number) before the race takes place. A Physiotherapy and Podiatry service will be available for the exclusive use of runners who have suffered any type of injury. The Physiotherapy service will not be used, in any case, as a relaxing or unloading massage.
The Medical Services shall be empowered to withdraw a runner who is in poor physical condition.
ARTICLE 13. LIABILITY
The organisation has an accredited Civil Liability insurance policy for the event.
ARTICLE 14. CLOAKROOM SERVICE
The Organisation will have a cloakroom service where runners can leave their belongings, and will not be held responsible for any objects left there.
The staff of the Organisation’s cloakroom service may ask runners to open their bags before dropping them off, in order to supervise the contents of the bags. If a runner refuses to open a bag, the Organisation may refuse to collect the bag.
ARTICLE 15. AUTHORISED VEHICLES
The only vehicles allowed to follow the race will be those accredited by the organisers. It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motor vehicle or vehicle on wheels (skates, bicycles, etc…), with the express order of the Local Police of Malaga to remove them from the circuit. A broom vehicle will be available to mark the cut-off time in each section of the race, after which the runner must leave the circuit and abandon the race following the instructions of any member of the organisation. In the case of runners who are not in a fit state to continue the race and require medical attention, they will inform this vehicle or any member of the organisation, who will inform the medical services of the Marathon.
ARTICLE 16. UNAUTHORISED DEMONSTRATION
Any kind of demonstration of people that could endanger the safety of the participants and the celebration of the activity is forbidden, and will be removed by the forces of public order.
ARTICLE 17. ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS
All participants, by registering, accept these REGULATIONS and the Rules of the RFEA, FAA, IAAF and AIMS. In case of doubt, the criterion of the Organisation will prevail.
ARTICLE 18. ACCEPTANCE PUBLICATION (DATA PROTECTION POLICY)
The data provided will be included in a file under the responsibility of Atres Advertising, S.L.U. whose purpose is to manage the personal data of the people who participate in the different activities and events organised by the company, as well as to send by any means, including electronic, information and advertising of products and services of our company, as well as products and services of those sponsors and/or collaborators of the event related to the sectors of telecommunications, finance, legal services, sports, housing, insurance, leisure and tourism, employment and training, mass consumption, automotive, energy, courier, transport, nutrition, water and NGOs.
By registering, the participant authorises Atres Advertising, S.L.U. to record his/her image during his/her participation in the event or activity, and to use the photographs or videos taken for commercial purposes and for the promotion and dissemination of the event, in any media.
