GENERALI MÁLAGA 2026 HALF MARATHON RULES AND REGULATIONS
ARTICLE 1. INTRODUCTION
LASTLAP, S.L.U., is organising the Generali Málaga Half Marathon, to be held on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 8.30 am, in which any adult who wishes to take part may do so without distinction.
ARTICLE 2. CERTIFICATION
The circuit will measure 21,095 kilometres and will be duly homologated. This event is run by the Road Race Regulations of the WA and the RFEA. The course will be marked and signposted at every kilometre.
ARTICLE 3. ROUTE
Starting and finishing line at Paseo del Parque opposite the University of Málaga Rectorate, with the route published on the Marathon’s official website: https://www.generalimaratonmalaga.com/marathon-malaga-en/
ARTICLE 4. TIMETABLE
The race will start at 8.30 am and the maximum time allowed to complete the race is 2 hours and 45 minutes from the start of the final wave; the finish line will be located on Avenida Cánovas del Castillo.
The mandatory passing times required to complete the race, starting from the final heat, are as follows:

Participants who fail to meet these passing times will be disqualified by the race judges and will, from that point onwards, be considered out of control and out of the race; they must, if necessary, leave the roadways.
ARTICLE 5. WHEELED DEVICES AND APPARATUS
The use of any wheeled device or apparatus is prohibited during the race (including handbikes), with the exception of wheelchairs for disabled athletes, which must be approved by the Federation and officially authorised by the Organising Committee. Such athletes must wear a helmet.
ARTICLE 6. REGISTRATION
6.1. REGISTRATION PERIOD:
From 30 December 2025 until Monday 2 November 2026 at 8.00 pm, via online, or until the 12,000 available race numbers have been allocated.
If any bibs numbers remain available, a counter will be set up for this purpose during the runners’ fair.

6.4. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies full acceptance of the Technical Regulations of the event, including the Declaration of Responsibility contained therein (Annex 1).
- Under no circumstances, once registration has been completed, may participation be transferred to another person on the grounds of being unable to take part in the event or for any other reason.
6.5. CANCELLATION INSURANCE.
Once registration has been completed, the registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. At the time of registration, runners may take out cancellation insurance for their entry, with two options available, one of which must be selected upon registration:
- I do not want any guarantee.
- Standard cancellation guarantee: 100% of the registration fee will be refunded (price of the race number excluding extras: medal engraving, photos, sunglasses, etc.), minus the cost of the cancellation insurance. Deadline for requesting a refund: 15 October.
- The cancellation guarantee can only be taken out at the time of registration.
- The cancellation guarantee fee is non-refundable.
- Changes of registration will not be accepted.
- It is essential to take out the guarantee at the time of registration.
ARTICLE 7. CATEGORIES AND CLASSIFICATIONS
7.1. CATEGORIES
The following categories are established:
- Under-20: born in 2007 and 2008.
- Under-23: born in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
- Senior M / F: born in 2003 up to the age of 35.
- Master M35 / F35: aged 35 to 39 inclusive.
- Master M 40 / F 40: aged 40 to 44 inclusive.
- Master M 45 / F 45: aged 45 to 49 inclusive
- Master M 50 / F 50: aged 50 to 54 inclusive
- Master M 55 / F 55: aged 55 to 59 inclusive
- Master M 60 / F 60: aged 60 to 64 inclusive
- Master M 65 / 65 to 69 years old
- Master M 70 / F 70: Over 70 years old… And up to the oldest athlete to complete the race in accordance with the regulations.
- Disabled (Mixed) in Wheelchair M/ F*
*Special categories.
*All ages stated must have been reached by the day of the race.
*Minors are not permitted to participate in the half marathon.
7.2. RANKINGS
The following rankings will be compiled:
- Overall Men’s and Women’s Rankings.
ARTICLE 8. PRIZES
All participants in the race will receive a finisher’s medal once the race has been completed within the official time limit.
8.1. COMPLAINTS
All classifications are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the members of the RFEA Judges’ Committee.
Complaints regarding positions in the prize-winning rankings must be submitted in writing, together with €100, to the Chief Judge within a maximum of 30 minutes of the publication of the rankings, and the Chief Judge shall make the final decision. If the runner’s complaint is upheld, the €100 will be refunded.
Corrections must be sent in writing to the marathon email address: info@generalimaratonmalaga.com, by the Wednesday following the race.
The Organising Committee will respond to complaints/corrections within a maximum of 10 days, after which the rankings will be considered final. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until that time.
ARTICLE 9. BIB NUMBERS
The location of the Runners’ Fair will be announced shortly via the Marathon’s official channels.
To collect their bib number, runners must present their registration receipt or a copy of their registration, along with their ID, passport or another official document proving their identity.
Race numbers will not be issued on the day of the race.
Race numbers must be worn clearly visible on the front of the torso throughout the entire race and may not be altered.
Race numbers contain a disposable chip, so they must not be folded or manipulated.
ARTICLE 10. DISQUALIFICATIONS
The following will result in disqualification:
- Providing false information during registration (age, place of residence, etc.).
- Failing to complete the full course.
- Failing to pass through the checkpoints located along the course.
- Failing to wear the bib number clearly visible on the chest, or altering or concealing the advertising on it.
- Running with a race number and/or chip assigned to another runner.
- Failing to follow the instructions of the officials and/or Organising Committee staff.
- Allowing your bib number to be photocopied and used by another runner in the marathon.
- Refusing to undergo a doping test.
- Displaying unsportsmanlike behaviour.
- Failing to meet the split times required to finish within the 2h45 time limit.
ARTICLE 11. REFRESHMENT STATIONS
Refreshments will be provided to runners along the route and in the designated post-finish area.
There will be refreshment stations with water and isotonic drinks at kilometres 5, 10, 15 and 18.
Solid refreshments will be available at the refreshment station located at kilometre 15.
ARTICLE 12. MEDICAL CARE
The Generali Maratón de Málaga 2026 will provide the necessary medical services to attend to runners during the race. The Organisers recommend that all participants undergo a medical examination prior to the race; all participants accept the risks associated with the sporting activity.
Likewise, the athlete declares that they are in optimal physical condition to take part in this event and does so at their own risk.
Any athlete with health issues is required (for their own safety) to notify the Organisers in writing in advance, mark their race number with a red cross and include on it their name, address, telephone number and the health issue they are suffering from. They are required
A physiotherapy and podiatry service will be available, exclusively for runners who have suffered an injury. Under no circumstances may the physiotherapy service be used for relaxation or stress-relief massage.
Medical staff are authorised to withdraw any runner who appears to be in poor physical condition.
ARTICLE 13. LIABILITY
All registered participants will be covered by a Third-Party Liability Insurance Policy and an Accident Insurance Policy, which will cover only those incidents that occur directly during the course of the event.
Accidents resulting from pre-existing illnesses or conditions are excluded, as are those caused by recklessness, negligence, or failure to comply with current regulations or these Rules.
Similarly, incidents that may occur during journeys to or from the race venue will not be covered.
ARTICLE 14. CLOAKROOM SERVICE
The Organisers will provide a cloakroom service where runners may leave their belongings; however, they accept no liability for items left there.
Staff from the Organisation’s Cloakroom Service may ask runners to open their bags before depositing them, in order to check their contents. Should a runner refuse to open a bag, the Organisation may refuse to accept that bag.
ARTICLE 15. AUTHORISED VEHICLES
The only vehicles permitted to follow the race will be those accredited by the Organisers. It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motorised vehicle or on wheels (rollerblades, bicycles, etc.), and the Málaga Local Police have been expressly instructed to remove them from the course. A broom van will be provided to mark the cut-off time for each section of the race, after which the runner must leave the course and withdraw from the race following the instructions of any member of the organising committee.Runners who are unable to continue the race and require medical attention, they must notify this vehicle or any member of the organising committee, who will then inform the Marathon’s medical services.
ARTICLE 16. UNAUTHORISED GATHERINGS
Any gathering of people that may jeopardise the safety of participants or the smooth running of the event is forbidden, and will be dispersed by the police.
ARTICLE 17. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
By registering, all participants accept these REGULATIONS and the rules of the RFEA, FAA, IAAF and AIMS. In case of doubt, the Organisation’s decision will prevail.
ARTICLE 18. ACCEPTANCE TO PUBLICATION (DATA PROTECTION POLICY)
The data provided will be included in a data file managed by LASTLAP, S.L.U., the purpose of which is to manage the personal data of individuals participating in the various activities and events organised by the company, as well as to send, by any means, including electronic means, information and advertising regarding our company’s products and services, as well as those of the event’s sponsors and/or partners in the telecommunications, financial, legal services, sports, housing, insurance, leisure and tourism, employment and training, consumer goods, automotive, energy, courier, transport, nutrition, water and NGO sectors.
By registering, the participant authorises LASTLAP, S.L.U. to record their image whilst participating in the event or activity, and to use the photographs or videos taken for commercial purposes and for the promotion and dissemination of the event, in any medium.
